Josette (80):
With a fresh lease on life (and a new house in Golden Groves), Josette is determined to squeeze every bit of fun out of her golden years. Between making new friends, signing up for dance classes, and cracking jokes like it’s her job, she’s the life of the party—whether everyone else is ready for her or not.

June (70s):
Elegantly dressed and forever polished, June is the queen bee of Golden Groves with a gaze as cold as her perfectly chilled wine. She’s got a custom-built house, a closet full of purple and gold, and absolutely no patience for nonsense — or new friends. But beneath that frosty exterior, there just might be a hint of warmth (if you’re persistent enough).
Helen (60s):
A quiet observer with a dry wit and razor-sharp instincts. An Asian-American woman who prefers to study people from a distance before deciding if they’re friendship material, she’s more passive-aggressive than passive and isn’t afraid to cut someone off before the first hello. Her sharp humor and stealthy surveillance style make her one of the community’s most unexpected scene-stealers.
Maggie (90):
Sharp-tongued, intimidating, and proudly anti-social—until she isn’t. With a mysterious past (she claims she “grew up in… Argentina”), Maggie is the kind of grandmother who, when asked for sage wisdom about surviving COVID-19, replies: “You’re not all going to make it.” She has no patience for pleasantries, but under that thorny exterior is a backbone of steel and an unexpected sense of loyalty—offered on her own terms.
Ms. Leon (30s):
The ever-smiling, overly rehearsed manager of Golden Groves, Ms. Leon is as polished as a game show host and just as hard to read. She’s got a spiel for everything—don’t call them “fees,” they’re “resort premiums”—and can pivot from charm to frosty efficiency faster than you can say “complaint form.”
Chef Adam (30s):
He’s got the knife skills of a Michelin chef and the side hustles of a college freshman. Chef Adam is Golden Groves’ resident culinary wizard with a side of mystery, serving up gourmet dishes and a dash of sarcasm, especially when people mistake him for a cafeteria cook.
Hector (40s):
The ultra-strict, no-nonsense Director of Golden Groves, Hector runs the place with the intensity of a boot camp drill sergeant and the emotional availability of a tax auditor. While technically in charge of operations, he sees himself more as the lone authority keeping chaos at bay—which, to be fair, in this community of streaking seniors and rogue golf carts, might not be far from the truth.
Madison (late 20s):
No-filter nurse at the Cortez Clinic, fluent in Gen Z speak and STI prevention. She’s the blunt reality check every retirement community apparently needs, quick to educate new residents on the hookup culture and loofah-coded golf carts. Equal parts eye-roll and empathy, Madison brings a modern edge to life at Golden Groves.
